Study-Travel & Fall Programs
Study-Travel and Preview of Fall 2024 Tab will be found below.
Begin the new year in the Mediterranean, joining fellow learners from the Selim Center in study travel to Italy.
- Program One explores the many layers of Sicily's history and culture.
- Program Two explores Rome and its environs.
- You can participate in either or both programs.
Program Dates:
- Sicily: Exploring the Layers of History: January 7-15, 2025
- Rome from Antiquity to the Early Modern Era, Legacies & Transformations: January 15-23, 2025
These unique study-travel programs will explore ancient architecture & history from antiquity and early Christianity to the Early Modern era. Dr. Vanča Schrunk, St. Thomas archeologist and historian of the ancient world, will interpret and help us appreciate the history and rich cultures we encounter.

- Combined course (Sicily & Rome): $7,795.00
- Sicily, only: $4,585.00
- Rome, only: $4,875.00
Pricing is for groups of 15. The price will decline by groups of five (5), e.g., 20, 25.

The Fall 2024 schedule will go live on July 19th. Each program will have an individual page that provides a program description, instructor biography, and other details related to the program. In addition, each page will have the three links you'll find below the teaser.

- Tuesday Morning, October 29: "Music & Politics: A Wildly Condensed History of 200 Years of American Presidential Campaign Music" with Ms. Susan Anderson-Benson
- Friday, November 1 (Lunch'n Explore): "America on Election Eve: What the campaigns say about today; what the outcome promises for tomorrow" with Mr. Tom Horner
- Thursday Evening, November 7: "The Election No One Wanted But We Got Anyhow: Making Sense of the 2024 Elections" with Dr. David Schultz

Audit an Undergraduate Course
Go to College Program
Lifelong learners (age 40-plus) are encouraged to continue their education by taking regular undergraduate classes along with younger students. Participants are able to enroll as auditors in a variety of courses, on a space-available basis.

Campus Shuttle
Selim Center students are welcome to use the campus shuttle to travel between the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses for center classes but must have a Selim Center ID to do so. To request an ID, please send a self-addressed, stamped business-size envelope to the Center with your request; please allow 10 business days for mail to be received and the ID returned to you. Please click on the "shuttle schedule" button for more information about the shuttle's operational hours.
