Tommie Food Shelf

The Tommie Food Shelf is a grocery giveaway that benefits students, staff, faculty, and community members. We partner with three local non-profit community partners to bring two monthly grocery giveaways to campus.

The Tommie Shelf Foodmobile is a St. Thomas initiative that helps eradicate food insecurity on our campus and in our community. Our mutually beneficial partnerships with Keystone Community Services, Good in the 'Hood, and Second Harvest Heartland provide up to twenty-five pounds of groceries a month.

On the first Tuesday of every month on the St. Paul Campus, Tommie Shelf partners with Keystone Community Services to give away shelf-stable food and fresh produce to all who attend the event.

On the third Wednesday of every month on the Minneapolis Campus, Tommie Shelf partners with Good in the 'Hood to give away shelf-stable food and fresh produce to St. Thomas students.

Tommie Shelf also partners with the Kitchen Coalition program through Second Harvest Heartland to provide premade, microwavable meals to students. These meals are prepared by local restaurants and distributed on both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses.
