Treating Mind and Heart: Training New Psychologists

When the mind and heart are hurting, dealing with other pressing issues can be next to impossible. The Interprofessional Center offers psychological services to a diverse population of clients with mental health issues while providing practicum experience for graduate professional psychology students.

These psychological services can take many forms. It could be counseling to individual adolescents or adults, couples, and families. It could be a psychological assessment as a part of legal proceedings or therapeutic treatment planning. Whatever the form, these services treat the mind and heart, helping clients achieve new levels of mental health.

By providing these services, graduate professional psychology students put into practice what they have been learning in the classroom. Through supervision and collaboration with other students, they gain invaluable insights into the practice of their chosen profession.
