Meet Karen Lange

About Karen M. Lange, Ed.D.

Dr. Karen Lange has served as the Vice President for Student Affairs since 2015. Karen has worked in Student Affairs at St. Thomas for over 35 years, including as the Dean of Students prior to becoming Vice President. In her role as Vice President, Karen oversees the Anderson Student Center, Campus Life, Center for Well-Being (which includes Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Services, Health Promotion, Violence Prevention and Resiliency), Club Sports, Dean of Students Office, Innovation and Creativity, Karon Veterans Resource Center, Off-Campus Student Life, Orientation and Registration, Parent and Family Resources, Residence Life and Student Diversity and Inclusion Services. Additionally, Karen co-chairs the University Action Response Team and the COVID Planning Team.

Karen is well-known as a strong advocate for St. Thomas students and a champion of those underrepresented on campus.  Throughout her career at St. Thomas, Karen has been acknowledged by students and colleagues alike as a caring, competent and insightful leader who fosters inclusion, team building, accountability and creativity.
