The Prophets

Lecture Series Description: This program will offer an introduction and overview of prophets and prophecy in ancient Israel. It will also provide an in-depth look at selected biblical prophetic texts, with emphasis on their interpretation and relevance for our world today. 

Lecture Series Information: Wednesdays, 10:00-11:45 a.m., starting September 21, 2022, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center Auditorium, University of St. Thomas St. Paul Campus and simulcast online via Zoom.   

Lecture Series EducatorPaul Niskanen is a professor of Old Testament in the theology department at the University of St. Thomas where he has taught for 20 years. His main interests include prophetic literature, biblical theology, and Catholic biblical interpretation. Among his writings are several articles, books and commentaries on Isaiah and Daniel.
