CLE: Overruling Roe v. Wade: Implications for Women and the Law

Wednesday, April 26, 2017
12:30-1:30 p.m.

$20 for CLE; free for students

University of St. Thomas School of Law
Room 238

Debates regarding the future of abortion under the federal constitution invariably evoke strong feelings and expansive rhetoric. The pro-life side too often seems to assume that the fall of Roe will result in legal protection for unborn children with little or no legislative action. The pro-choice side claims that overruling Roe will harm women, going so far as to argue that women will be prosecuted for obtaining covert abortions. Paul Linton, former general counsel to Americans United for Life and author of Abortion under State Constitutions: A State-by-State Analysis, will provide an informed (and informative) evaluation of these competing claims. Lunch will be provided.

This event is co-sponsored by the North Star Liberty Alliance. Organizers have applied for 1 hour of MN General CLE credit for this event.

This event will be repeated on the St. Paul campus at 7 p.m.
