Comfort and Joy

The 32nd year of the University of St. Thomas Christmas concert will unfold with "Comfort and Joy" at Orchestra Hall on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 4 and 7:30 p.m.

The performance celebrates the Christmas season by drawing from both the familiar traditional carols and innovative contemporary selections. This year's concert will feature the world premiere performance of a new piece by Jocelyn Hagen for the massed ensembles. More than 300 student performers in the Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Festival Choir, Liturgical Choir, Donne Unite, Jazz Singers, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, String Orchestra, Brass Ensemble and Guitar Ensemble will perform in the concert.

The concert is 90 minutes long and there is not an intermission.

This performance will be recorded and filmed. Twin Cities Public Television will broadcast "A St. Thomas Christmas: Comfort and Joy," a one-hour holiday special produced at this year’s concert and distributed to public television stations nationwide during the holiday season. The broadcast is made possible by a generous gift from Mary Agnes and Al McQuinn.

Due to standard concert protocol, children 6 and under will not be allowed into the performance hall.  Tickets are required for admittance. No refunds will be distributed.
