Taking Languages off Campus

Students who wish to take elsewhere a foreign language offered by the department of Modern and Classical Languages should provide a syllabus to the department chair for consideration, along with a Transfer Credit Pre-Approval Form. Note that fully online courses are rarely accepted.

Students who wish to take a foreign language not offered by the department of Modern and Classical Languages should take the language at an ACTC school(Augsburg College, Hamline University, Macalester College or St. Catherine University) whenever possible.

  • Augsburg College: Norweigan
  • St. Catherine University: American Sign Language (ASL)

Students who wish to take a foreign language that is not offered at an ACTC school should contact the department of Modern and Classical Languages for assistance: mcl@stthomas.edu or 651-962-5150.
