Sally Dahlquist

Prior to joining the University of St. Thomas School of Law staff, Sally worked for more than twenty years as the Director of the ABA Approved Paralegal Program at Inver Hills Community College. Ms. Dahlquist devoted her legal career to developing a wealth of knowledge and experience in higher education and the legal community, a passion for working with students and a dedication to success. She worked closely with a diverse group of students encouraging professional development, finding career opportunities, and coordinating legal internships.

Sally practiced primarily family law serving the community's needs and advocating for the collaborative practice of law prior to joining Inver Hills. She worked with a diversity of clients from initial meetings through settlement, prepared all legal documents, conducted legal research, handled complex marital asset and debt evaluations, and attended all settlement meetings and court hearings.

Sally continues to work directly with legal employers, judges, recruiters, and other community members having created a vast professional network. Committed to the practice of law and legal education, Sally is an active member and participant in the Minnesota State Bar, American Bar and Minnesota Paralegal Associations, and serves as a member of the ABA Standing Committee on Paralegals, previously chairing the ABA Approval Commission. She was appointed by Justice Lorie Gildea and served on the Minnesota Supreme Court Implementation Committee for the Proposed Legal Paraprofessional Pilot Project. She also participated on the Diversity Task Force and Alternative Legal Model Task Force of the Minnesota State Bar Association and Chaired the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Company at Inver Hills Community College.

Sally is licensed to practice law in Minnesota. In her spare time, she volunteers as the president of the Manx Society of Minnesota promoting her heritage from the Isle of Man.
