About the Institute
The Habiger Institute for Catholic Leadership offers a range of opportunities for students to develop the fortitude and character required to live as faithful professionals, ethical leaders and joyful Catholics in a complex world.
Our leadership formation and development programs go beyond skill mastery to help students develop a deeper moral and spiritual vision and to think about what matters most.
We help our students find meaning wherever God leads them—in their personal and professional or religious lives.

Guadalupe's Scholars
Grow academically, professionally and spiritually, and build the leadership skills required to make a difference. Scholars receive financial, social and academic support to make a four-year degree from a Catholic university possible.
Leadership Interns
Develop spiritually, professionally and personally as a Catholic leader through a rigorous program providing retreats, seminars, hands-on experience and interaction with civic and Church leaders.
Telos Living Learning Communities
Our Telos Living Learning Communities are for all students who care about building lasting friendships and exploring the questions that matter most. Men's and women's floors and houses are available.
Mission & Culture Internship
Our internship program provides hands-on professional experience for students while the next generation of Catholic educators in partnership with Twin Cities area Catholic schools.

Verso L’Alto
Habiger Institute's Verso L'Alto program offers Latino high schoolers a supportive environment to grow spiritually and intellectually, and better prepare for a four-year college degree.

Good leadership is measured by more than stock price or the number of people served. It is a way of being and involves the whole person, from speaking skills and intellectual formation to character and fundamental commitments.
About Monsignor James D. Habiger
Monsignor James Habiger dedicated his financial resources, time, and talent to build communities where people would be challenged to be servants of the common good. He wanted to give people a "memory of the past, a perception of the present, and a plan for the future."
To honor his parents, Habiger established the Joseph and Edith Habiger Institute for Catholic Leadership in the Center for Catholic Studies to provide students with leadership formation opportunities.
