Dr. Barlow's research focuses on the intersection of human behavior and technology. He has published papers in several top information systems journals and conferences on the topics of computer-mediated communication, collective intelligence, virtual groupwork, and information security compliance behavior.

He has extensive experience teaching in a variety of formats, including traditional lecture, computer lab training, online courses, hybrid courses, flipped classroom, and industry training.
