The non-degree programs of Graduate Engineering or Graduate Software allow you to take one or more graduate-level courses from either the ETLS Course Catalog (Graduate Engineering courses) or SEIS Course Catalog (Graduate Software courses) without committing to a graduate certificate or master's degree.
[You may take a maximum of four graduate courses on either a credit or audit basis as a non-degree student.]
GRADUATE ENGINEERING NON-DEGREE PROGRAM
You may register and attend ETLS courses even if you do not intend to earn a graduate certificate or a master’s degree. Students must apply and gain admission to the Non-Degree Graduate Engineering program before registering for classes.
If you have a bachelor’s degree*, the course credits you earned in your non-degree program may be used as a base toward completion of a Graduate Engineering graduate certificate or master's degree program.
Students who do not have a bachelor’s degree will not be allowed to continue in a graduate certificate or master’s degree program.
Non-degree students may not take the following ETLS courses:
ETLS 858, ETLS 880 and ETLS 881
Program Requirements
Students taking graduate courses on a credit basis must maintain a grade point average of 2.7 or better. Audited courses must be completed with a grade of “satisfactory.” Audited courses cannot be applied toward a graduate certificate or master’s degree unless they are retaken for graduate credit. Non-degree students may take a maximum of four graduate courses on either a credit or audit basis.
Entrance Requirements
- *A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a regionally-accredited institution in the U.S. (or international equivalent) OR proof of enrollment in a Graduate Engineering international exchange program OR proof of a minimum of three years of approved industry experience.
- An overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.7 meets minimum requirements, but applicants with lower GPAs will be considered based on their professional experience.
GRADUATE SOFTWARE NON-DEGREE PROGRAM
You may register and attend SEIS courses even if you do not intend to earn a graduate certificate or a master’s degree. Students must apply and gain admission to the Non-Degree Graduate Software program before registering for classes.
If you have a bachelor’s degree*, the course credits you earned in your non-degree program may be used as a base toward completion of a Graduate Software graduate certificate or master's degree program.
Students who do not have a bachelor’s degree will not be allowed to continue in a graduate certificate or master’s degree program.
Non-degree students may not take the following SEIS courses:
SEIS 776, SEIS 777, SEIS 779, SEIS 790, SEIS 795
