Career Counseling Appointments

Students and alumni may schedule confidential appointments with a career specialist to discuss career related concerns. Possible topics you may discuss include, but are not limited to, academic major search/exploration, career research, resume/cover letters, interviewing, testing/assessment and questions regarding job and internship fairs and On-Campus Interviewing.

Appointments are scheduled for 50 minutes. To make an appointment call (651) 962-6761.

"Pop-In..." (No appointment necessary)

Have a quick question you'd like to ask of a career counselor but don't have time to set up an appointment? Just "pop-in" to speak with a counselor at your own convenience. Feel free to stop by for resume help, cover letter suggestions, interviewing tips, help finding job and internship listings, or any other career related questions you'd like to ask.

Pop-In availability varies. Please call our office at 651-962-6761 for a schedule.

Career Assessments and Inventories

University of St. Thomas students and alumni interested in taking an assessment or inventory may schedule an appointment with a career counselor. Visit the Career Assessment and Inventory page for more information. There is a fee to take most inventories. Free inventories may be discussed with a counselor.

Seminars and Workshops

Throughout the year, seminars related to career planning, job search, and other work/life concerns are offered to students and alumni. Faculty may request class or club visits from our staff who will gear the presentation toward the interests of the group. Visit Seminars & Events for a schedule.

On-Campus Interviewing

Each year employers visit St. Thomas during fall and spring semesters and interview hundreds of undergraduate students to fill a variety of internships and full-time jobs. To participate in On-Campus Interviewing, students are required to attend an Orientation to On-Campus Interviewing. Visit our On-Campus Interviewing page or the On-Campus Interviewing FAQ for more information.

Career Resource Center

The Resource Center has four computer workstations for student and alumni career development use as well as a printer and wireless access to the UST network.

Mock Interviews

Mock interviews are provided so that students and alumni may practice their interviewing technique with a counselor. The sessions are recorded and then played back so that the counselor can offer feedback. Learn more.

To schedule a mock interview, call (651) 962-6761.
